Chalet Jacqueline is a wonderful, traditional chalet of 350 m², arranged on four levels. It was lovingly renovated just under 10 years ago by the present owners, with an emphasis on detail and handcrafted timberwork. The purpose was to create a homely feel with a large social area where they could run a successful catered chalet business, which they continue to do to this day.

The ground floor (drive level) comprises an entrance, boot room with large ski lockers, laundry room, separate WC and sauna with shower. There is also an independent apartment of 46 m² comprising a living room with open, fitted kitchen, a bedroom with bathroom & WC.

The main entrance to the chalet is located on the first floor. The large hallway, with separate WC, leads into the enormous (110m²) living and dining area with an open fire, corner bar and billiards area. There is a separate fully-fitted, commercial standard kitchen, which could easily be opened up into the dining area. French doors from the lounge area lead onto the sunny terrace (100m²) with a hot tub and superb, panoramic views of the mountains, from Mont Blanc to les Drus.

The second floor comprises five bedrooms, all with ensuites and WCs, and a good sized landing which could be used as a study. On the top floor there are three further bedrooms (also with ensuites and WCs) and a TV/games area.

Externally, the chalet has a small, well-established garden with a mazot (with electricity) which could be used for additional storage or a home office. There is a large drive with parking for several cars.

The chalet is situated in the sought-after area of Les Nants and les Praz, a quiet residential sector which is only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Chamonix. Being on the south-facing slopes, it enjoys a lot of sun throughout the year.

Our opinion
This property offers 2 distinct possibilities: it has very much been set up as a business chalet and could continue to be so, with a proven track record. Alternatively, the chalet could easily be converted into a generous home or holiday home - the walls between the bedrooms on the top 2 floors are non-structural, so could be combined if less bedrooms are needed. There are very few chalets of this size at this price in the Valley.


Location

Chalet Jacqueline is situated in the sought-after, sunny area of Les Nants, a pleasant 20 minute walk from the centre of Chamonix via the riverside and sports centre. It is also just over a 5 minute walk (500 metres) to the village of les Praz, which has various bars, restaurants and shops.

For access to the skiing, the nearest lift is at Flégère, 850 metres from the chalet. The nearest bus stop is very close to the chalet, giving free access to the entire Valley.
