Chalet Louise is a recently built, 4 bedroom chalet of approximately 175m² total floorspace on 3 levels. It is in a quiet, residential location yet right in the centre of les Houches.

The chalet is entered from the driveway into a good sized hallway with storage for coats and boots. At this level, there is a laundry room leading through to a double guest bedroom, the boiler room and a storage area. There is also internal access to the large, double length garage.

Stairs lead up from the hallway to the open plan living area with double height space and high windows, beautifully framing the mountain views. There is a newly renovated, open plan kitchen area with breakfast bar/island and a good sized dining area. French doors lead onto the terrace, a private sun-trap from Spring to Autumn and onto the good sized, secure garden with fabulous views of the mountains. The master bedroom with ensuite shower room/WC is also at this level, plus a separate WC for guests.

The top floor has a large open mezzanine, currently used as a study and second lounge area, with bedrooms 3 and 4 sharing the family bathroom with WC.

Our opinion

This is a very nice, modern chalet in a great position within the village of les Houches. It is a matter of metres from the centre, the bus stop and the school making it a very convenient family home. There's scope to add value through minor changes, such as closing in the mezzanine to make a 5th bedroom or adding an ensuite to the downstairs bedroom. A great chalet, competitively priced!

Location

Chalet Louise is situated in a quiet, residential position right the centre of the village of les Houches. It is less than 200 metres from the town square with the post office, Carrefour supermarket, restaurants and bars. It is also a very short walk (450 metres) to the school, making a very convenient location for families.

For transport around the Valley, the nearest bus stop is by the town square. Les Houches train station is a little further away (800 metres, 10 minutes walk) but still within easy reach.

For access to skiing, there are nursery slopes by the ice rink (450 metres, 5 minutes on foot) but the main slopes of les Houches are 900 metres away (Bellevue lift, just over 10 minutes on foot).
