La Tanière is also very close to the Vallorcine train station, giving access into Switzerland (Martigny) to th east and the Chamonix Valley (Argentière, Chamonix and les Houches) to the west, as far as Le Fayet. The bus is also here, so that public transport links are as good as they could be.
The village itself is 500 metres away, with various restaurants lining the valley floor. The main amenities (large supermarkets, etc) are in the Chamonix Valley itself, a 10 minute drive from Vallorcine.
