Either side of a dual aspect fireplace, the living area is floor to ceiling glass on 3 sides with bifold doors on opposite sides allowing the space to be completely opened up. The windows are carefully positioned to frame the views of Mont Blanc. To the side, there is a large decked terrace with 7 person hot tub and, on the other side, steps down to the garden. Also on this level is the fully fitted kitchen, the master ensuite bedroom, a 2nd bedroom and separate shower room with WC.

On the 2nd floor, there is a bedroom with Velux windows and adjacent bathroom with WC. There are also large storage cupboards under the roofspace.

The ground floor comprises 2 further bedrooms, both ensuite with showers, a garage and storage areas.

Externally, the chalet has a large, flat garden laid mostly to lawn with a 2 storey mazot (connected to electrics) and a drive with sufficient parking for several cars.

Our opinion
This is a rare product indeed. The present owners invested a great deal of time finding a special location, which Chalet de la Plaine certainly has. There are very few chalets in the Valley with such a pleasant, quiet setting yet easily walkable into the centre. The renovation is of a high standard and the extension has provided a quite special living area with all the glass and retractable doors.

Location

The chalet is situated within the sought after Plaine des Praz area of Chamonix, 2.5km to the east of Chamonix itself and 1.5km (a 15 minute walk) from the village of les Praz and the golf course.

The nearest skiing is at Flégère less than a 5 minute drive away (1.5km).

There is a bus stop nearby, as well as a train station in Les Praz, giving access to each of the ski areas in the Valley.

There are a number of restaurants, bars and shops within easy reach in Les Praz and in Chamonix.

Chamonix can be reached on foot by a pleasant 30 minute walk along the river.
