Chalet Sapenay was originally built in 1968 and fully renovated (almost reconstructed) 4-5 years ago. On the ground floor there is an entrance from the private driveway and parking area, two ensuite bedrooms and a newly constructed wine cellar. There is also a large garage on this floor.
The first floor (garden level) comprises an open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area centred around a show-piece fire with a cosy TV area set away to the one side of the fireplace. There is one bedroom, a bathroom, WC and a cloakroom on this floor. The dining area leads out to the south facing terrace and extensive garden with excellent views. On the second floor there is the large master-suite, two further bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate WC.

Our opinionThe chalet is spacious and has a wonderful feel. Set in the woodland of Songenaz, it's in a quiet position and has wonderful views. It is just a short drive from Chamonix and Les Houches too.

LocationSongenaz is a hamlet in the peaceful area of Les Bossons - 4km (less than a 10 minute drive) south-west of Chamonix and 5km from Les Houches, with easy access to the main road in/out of the Chamonix valley. Chamonix and Les Houches both offer a large choice of shops, restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The closest ski lifts/ ski areas are Bellevue in Les Houches and Brévent in Chamonix, both around a 10 minute drive away. There is a train station in Les Bossons and a regular bus service runs to Chamonix, Les Houches and the different ski areas.
